DLSU's BEST DRESSED: Patricia Barretto

Patricia Barretto | BS Applied Economics and BS Accountancy | ID 110

How do you describe your personal style?
"I don’t think there’s a specific word to describe my style. I dress up according to what I feel and see most of the time but it’s safe to say that I’m very girly. Even if I’m dressed up very androgynously, I always find a way to inject it to the whole look!"

How do you normally dress up for school?

"You’ll always see me donning a skirt (skater and bandage skirts the most!), button downs, comfortable flats and a big manly watch."

What are your all time favorite fashion pieces?
"The classic aviator shades would always have a place in my bag because it practically matches with everything! Then blazers would come second. I love how it can make a casual look of shorts and a white top very dressy."

What are your current fashion obsessions?
"Snapbacks, cropped tops and wedge sneakers would probably top the list."

Who are your style icons?
"I’m in love with Aimee Song (of Song of Style) and Chiara Ferragni (of The Blonde Salad). They’re definitely the opposites of each other and I’d love to embody both of them when it comes to style!"

Any tips to your fellow Lasallians on how to dress up for school?
"There’s really no guidebook in dressing up. Just always keep in mind that you need to be comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing and you’ll instantly feel like a celebrity!"

DLSU's BEST DRESSED: Erick Razon

Erick Razon | BS Advertising Management | ID 110

How do you describe your personal style?

"Well, I'm slightly overdressed most of the time. I'm an inveterate wearer of black. I don't wear too much accessories. Fragrance is my jewelry. I don't follow trends for I'd rather wear things that I like and not get dictated on what I should wear."

How do you normally dress up for school?

"You'll see me wearing long-sleeved tops with skinny trousers or jeans. Of course, I never forget to walk with attitude."

What are your all time favorite fashion pieces?

"If only I can wear fur and oversized sunglasses everyday I would."

What are your current fashion obsessions?

"I'm currently obsessed with sequins or anything that's shimmery."

Who are your style icons?

"Kate Moss, The Olsens, Kate Lanphear, and Lena Perminova"

Any tips to your fellow Lasallians on how to dress up for school?

"Stop being too self conscious. So what if people give you weird stares? Fashion is an expression of individualism. Just be yourself. The next time you feel like wearing a leopard scarf and oversized sunglasses to school, don't think twice."

DLSU's BEST DRESSED: James Martin

James Jason Martin | BS Marketing Management | ID 110

How do you describe your personal style?

"Preppy? Sporty boho? Young laidback? I’m not really particular about how I categorize my personal style but what I’m sure of is that I always incorporate a piece that is not usually worn by guys into my outfit– something that would make me stand out but still in a fresh manly way."

How do you normally dress up for school?

"I usually base my outfit on the weather. It’s easy for me to adjust to the weather because I live in a condo unit just beside the campus. I always start with basics (i.e. plain shirt, chino shorts), and from there, I work on matching it with a piece that’s busy (printed or texturized). I usually don’t dress lazy, but when I do, it’s because I’m running late for class or I just don’t have enough clothes anymore (troubles of a condo guy on weekdays)."

What are your all time favorite fashion pieces?

"Short sleeve button-downs, cardigans, fitted pants, tank tops, chino shorts, and printed socks"

What are your current fashion obsessions?

"Suede shoes, sweaters/pullovers, parka & bomber jackets, snapbacks, and jersey tops"

Who are your style icons?

"James Dean, Justin Livingston, & Peter Adrian"

Any tips to your fellow Lasallians on how to dress up for school?

"COMFORT OVER STYLE. Sometimes, I feel like I need to dress up well because I feel good whenever I receive compliments. Truth be told though, sometimes I don’t really feel comfortable with my best looking outfit. Whatever it is that you are wearing, you must see to it that you are comfortable and confident about it first."

DLSU's BEST DRESSED: Tim Nguyen

Tim Nguyen | AB Organizational Communication | ID 111

How do you describe your personal style?

"I base my style on the judgement of my peers who have called me a "hipster". So I'll probably go with hipster."

How do you normally dress up for school?

"I'm addicted to plaids, but I usually limit that kind of style to school."

What are your all time favourite fashion pieces?

"As of the moment, my favourite would have to be the hawaiian floral short sleeved polo."

What are your current fashion obsessions?

"I'm looking into cardigans, chinos, and maybe some let-down suspenders."

Who are your style icons?

"Peter Adrian"

Any tips to your fellow Lasallians on how to dress up for school?

"Dress comfortably! That's all I can say. DLSU is like a battlefield of weather disasters. It can get hot, it can get wet, so be sure to always wear something comfy and save the "best dressed" get-ups for the big events."

DLSU's BEST DRESSED: Mars Nioko

Mars Nioko | AB Organizational Communication | ID 111

How do you describe your personal style?

"I actually don't know how to describe "my style" because I just wear anything I feel like wearing. Although I think I'm usually a mix of preppy and feminine. It actually all depends on my mood and on the occasion."

How do you normally dress up for school?

"Nothing unusual, it's just like how everyone else dresses! I'm usually in a skirt paired with anything that's white and/or collared! Oh and I think I wear my white rubber shoes at least twice a week."

What are your all time favourite fashion pieces?

"I'll forever be grateful for the resurrection of everything high waisted- from skirts, shorts to pants! Anything high waisted makes my life so much easier because I worry less about hiding my fats! Haha!"

What are your current fashion obsessions?

"Right now I'm loving the whole white on white trend!"

Who are your style icons?

"Well I find inspiration from people and things around me that look nice! Although, my ultimate favourite is Ashley Madekwe because I love how she blogs about clothes that are actually wearable and not over the top. I also love the trendy and at the same time classy style of Jessica Stroup, Olivia Palermo, and Kryz Uy. No judging though because I also adore Kathryn Bernardo."

Any tips to your fellow Lasallians on how to dress up for school?

"Invest on basics then learn to play around with them! Wear clothes that you'll feel comfortable moving around in and don't be OA because there's a time and place for everything. It also helps if you look at yourself in the mirror before leaving for school and think "if someone took a picture of me today and I'd have to look at the photo years from now, might I actually regret this outfit?". Kind of vain but I definitely learned from my high school and early college years photos! Haha!"

Onwards

Three years, baby! That's how long we've been covering the inspiring fashion sightings inside DLSU and for the record, we have no plans of stopping. We wouldn’t have thrived this long if it wasn’t for you, our dear readers. Thank you for your undying support for our humble blog. This year has been an exciting one for us- we have a bigger team, posted more content than ever, and scored record web hits (help us reach the big 100k)! We are hoping that you stick with us as we continue to showcase Lasallian fashion and culture ID113 and beyond.
This year’s best dressed Lasallians is the epitome of cool and edgy. It was only fair then that we shot this year's style-philes inside and around DLSU’s newest and coolest (literally and figuratively meant) building, the Henry Sy Hall. We tapped the skills of our resident best dressed list photographer Kyla Olives and followed the same dress-up and dress-down scheme for the layouts. As per usual, we will be featuring each student’s individual style profiles from Thursday onwards.
Enjoy this year's edition of Fashion 4.0 Best Dressed List!
